Our Roots:

Since 2014, we have been making acrylic for drums. We tried the ugly panel drum shields, and even the completely isolated drum cage, but found that the room lacked energy. That’s when we stopped trying to isolate drums and began to refract the harsh frequencies. We like music just like you … we like to perform just like you … we like the room to feel the drums, yet not get drowned out by them. Drum Baffles refracts the sound waves of your cymbals and toms away from the vocalist’s microphones and the sensitive ears of band members. Attach the Drum Baffles to any cymbal stand just the way you would a cymbal… we don’t want to complicate the setup… it’s that easy.

OUR ACRYLIC:

We’ve identified the optimal acrylic to give the best strength, scratch prevention, clarity and flexibility - you’re going to like how it looks. Our Acrylic MMA (Methyl Methacrylate monomer) liquid is injected into a mold made from two sheets of glass. The mold is then submerged in warm water and the process of polymerization takes place. The final surface finish is as smooth as glass, unlike extruded acrylic made from acrylic pellets, which cause wavy lines.

What is the
difference between
our baffles and
our competitors?

  1. Our competitors sell thinner acrylic 3mm = 3/32” (.11811 inches) or thinner. Our Drum Baffles are more than 2x thicker than the rest and have higher quality at 7mm = 1/4” (.25 inches)

  2. Their baffles can bend and snapDrum Baffles won’t bend due to it’s superior thickness (it’s twice as thick!)

  3. Their baffles will chip and crack easier around the center hole. Drum Baffles won’t chip or crack around the center hole. We are the first to implement a rubber grommet that acts as a cushion around the center hole to provide cushion between the stand and acrylic.

  4. They sell cheap “extruded acrylicwe only sell PREMIUM “casted acrylic.Bottom line: Casted Acrylic however is more expensive, yet clearer, rigid / stronger, has excellent optical properties, and has outstanding resistance to long-term exposure to sunlight and weathering.

What Are Drum Baffles?

Drum baffles are used to reduce cymbal bleed into vocal microphones and onto surrounding band members by physically blocking the sound waves generated by cymbals. This helps to isolate the cymbals from the stage by reducing the amount of unwanted sound from the drum kit. The amount of reduction in decibels varies depending on the specific design of the baffle, the acoustics of the room, and the position of vocal microphones, but it can typically range from 10-25 dB.
