What to Know Before Your Drum Baffles Arrive
Your Drum Baffles are cut from clear cast acrylic and protected for shipping. A few careful steps when the box arrives will keep them clear, scratch-free, and ready to work for years.
Step 1
Open the box carefully
Keep any box-cutter blade shallow and near the outer seams. Never push the blade deep into the box—the edge could reach and scratch a baffle.
Step 2
Peel off the protective paper
The clear cast acrylic arrives covered by a paper protective film. This is normal. Lift a corner and peel it away by hand from both sides. Do not use a knife, razor, scraper, or any other sharp object.

Step 3
Give both sides a first wipe
Use a clean, new microfiber towel to gently remove any dust or film residue. Avoid paper towels and used shop cloths—their trapped grit can leave fine scratches.
Step 4
Mount upright and place at the source
Mount each baffle on a standard cymbal stand and keep the disc vertical, close to the stand instead of booming it far outward. Place it at the cymbal source you want to control, between that cymbal and nearby singers, musicians, microphones, or audience areas. One baffle per cymbal gives maximum control; closely grouped splashes or chinas may sometimes share coverage.
Step 5
Use only acrylic-safe cleaning
For routine care, use lukewarm water with a little mild dish soap or the recommended alcohol- and ammonia-free EVEO screen cleaner, applied to a microfiber cloth—not directly to the baffle. Never use Windex/window sprays, ammonia, alcohol, acetone, strong solvents, paper towels, scouring compounds, or abrasive pads. Shop the recommended EVEO cleaner.
Quick placement checklist
- Start with the hi-hat, ride, and crash cymbals causing the most wash or microphone bleed.
- Keep each clear disc upright and close to its stand so the setup stays stable and compact.
- Position the baffle between the cymbal and the singer, microphone, musician, or audience area you want to protect.
- Use one baffle per cymbal for maximum control. Very close splashes or chinas may share coverage.
Protect the clear acrylic
We recommend the EVEO Screen Cleaner Spray and Wipe Kit. Spray it onto a clean microfiber towel—not directly onto the baffle—and test any cleaner on a small edge area first. This is an affiliate link; we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
Do not use Windex or other household window cleaners. Products containing ammonia, alcohol, acetone, or other strong solvents can cloud, weaken, or create fine surface cracks in acrylic. Paper towels, scouring compounds, and abrasive pads can also scratch it.
